Mr. Charles Leroy Smith

Mr. Charles Leroy Smith age 72, of Claudville, VA, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. Mr. Smith was born in Patrick County VA on May 21, 1943 to the late Charles and Dorothy Watson Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired Tennessee Walking Horse Trainer. Mr. Smith is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen Smith and Robin of Charlottesville, VA, and Jonathan Smith and fiancé, Jenny Benge of Ararat, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Opheila Cox Smith; and two brothers, Gideon Smith and David Smith. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with Jimmy Smith officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday night from 6-8. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of Mr. Smith’s caregivers during his illness.
