Mr. Charlie Richard Wilson, 90, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, March 08, 2014 at the Howard and Joan Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Patrick County on April 9, 1923 to the late George Washington and Cova Rorrer Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a retired Brick Mason and attended Fellowship Baptist Church. He served our country in The United States Army during WWII. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Roger and Michelle Gravely, Rev. Phillips M. Hurst, Diane Stamey, Glenn and Ginger Haynes, Joe Hurst, Rita McHone, Sybil and Ted Whittaker, Pixie and Nick Stilner, Peggy Blalock, Tina Hurst; Charlie's Angles, Nyra H. Holderfield, Jean Byrd, Wanda Gravley, Shelby Graybeal, Rita McHone, Annette Wight; loyal friends, Wilber Hawks, Donald Terrell, Benton Kirkman and Billy Tyson. In addition to his parents Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Sylvia Hurst Wilson; brother Edgar Wilson; sisters, Emma Gravely and Myrtle Bingman. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
