Mr. Clarence Edward Smith

Mr. Clarence Edward Smith, age 81 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his home.Mr. Smith was born in Surry County on March 6, 1933 to Neil and Vesti Shelton Smith.He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was retired from United Plastics, Inc.Surviving are his devoted wife, Shelby Moser Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Becky Smith, Jeff and Anita Smith, Randy Smith and fiancée Donna Akers; grandchildren, Nathan Smith and wife Melissa, Nikki Smith, Mallory Duong and husband Nghia, Christina Roberts and husband Jerald and Jordan Smith and wife Miranda, Haley Sumner and Brandon Sumner; great grandchildren, Evan Seal and Cayden Smith-Adame; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Shelby Smith, Clay and Joan Smith, Jacklyn Smith and Lori Smith.In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Childress; brothers, Herbert, Bill and Russell Smith.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Fonda Younger and Rev. Stewart Mauck.Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
