Mr. Clarence Eugene "Gene" Wilmoth, age 74, of Thurmond, NC passed away at his home on Wednesday May 15, 2013. He was born in Surry Co. on July 14, 1938 to the late James Calvin and Effie Jane Pardue Wilmoth. He was retired from Chatham Manufacturing with over 28 years of service. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Brian Keith Wilmoth; five brothers Spencer, Dallas, Corbit, Doughton, and Charlie Wilmoth. Surviving is his wife of Fifty Six Years Betty Lou Money Wilmoth of the home; daughter and son-in-law Vicky and Gregory Nixon of Thurmond; son and daughter-in-law Alvin and Candy Wilmoth of Thurmond; granddaughter Candy and Lee Lineberry; grandsons Nathan Nixon, Keith and Karla Wilmoth; great-granddaughters Mika Lineberry and Charly Danielle Lineberry; great-grandson Alan Eugene Wilmoth; sisters Dorothy Crouse of Thurmond, Collie Sidden of Lewisville; sisters-in-law Doris Wilmoth and Georgia Wilmoth. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Union Hill Cemetery. Elder Joey Jenkins and Elder Avery Branch will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Union Hill Cemetery Fund C/O Linda Carter 1388 Union Hill Road, Thurmond, NC 28683 or to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care 688 N. Bridge St., Elkin, NC 28621
