Mr. Claude Wilson Brown

Mr. Claude Wilson Brown, age 86, of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday morning May 13, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. He was born in Surry Co. on November 27, 1928 to the late Ed and Viola Sourthard Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie Medley Brown; son Joseph Wilson Brown; three sisters Stella Angell, Rosie Pierce, and Pauline Brown; three brothers Daniel Brown, Buster Monroe "Bum" Brown, and his twin brother Paul Floyd Brown. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Denise Brown of Dobson; four grandchildren Melissa Hutchens, Kevin Brown, Chris Johnson, Heather Johnson; four great grandchildren Madison Hutchens, Kara Hutchens, Devin Brown, Mary Kenna Johnson Coley; several special nieces and nephews; and "his Girl" Rhonda Woods. Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 PM May 17, 2015 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Ln. Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staffs at PruittHealth-Elkin, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital ICU; Penny Bowman of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, and Heather Johnson for the love and care given to their loved one.
