Mr. Curtis LeRoy Conner

Mr. Curtis LeRoy Conner, age 83 of Fieldale passed away Friday at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born on Sept. 9, 1931 in Patrick County to the late Posie and Naomi Mize Conner. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Hylton, Evelyn Salmons, Essie Conner, Ruth Pack; and two brothers, Jewell and Linwood Conner. LeRoy had retired from Stanley Furniture and was a member of Good Home Primitive Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary Belcher Conner of the home; two daughters and a son in law, Jeannie and Roger Nolen of Bassett, Sandra "Robin" Conner of Collinsville, two grandchildren, April Nolen, Kristin and Josh Amos; one great grandson, Conner Casey Lee Amos; one sister and brother in law, Viola and Richard Morrison of Stuart; and two brothers and sister in law, Alvis Conner of Stuart, and Donnie and Lucy Conner of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Elders Kenneth Bowles, Donnie Conner, and Jamie Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home.
