Mr. Daniel Jackson "Danny" Rodgers, Jr

Mr. Daniel Jackson "Danny" Rodgers, Jr., age 70 of Patrick Springs, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his home. He was born in Henry County on September 16, 1941 to the late Daniel Jackson Rodgers, Sr. and Mary Hodges Rodgers. He taught Sunday School, had gone to Methodist conferences, and later joined Stuart Baptist Church. He had served in the United States Marines, and retired from DuPont as a supervisor with 33 years of service. He was a great provider who enjoyed playing the bass and guitar and was passionate about history, especially World War I and II. He loved his pets, and is gone but not forgotten.
Danny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Barker Rodgers of the home; three children, Dana Rodgers Clark of Patrick Springs, Daniel Jackson "Jack" Rodgers, III of Patrick Springs, and Patty R. Hall, and husband, Robert of Stuart; three grandchildren, Jon Caleb Clark, Casey Morgan Clark and Amber Reneé Rodgers; one sister, Mary Ann R. Wall of Collinsville; and one brother, David Arthur Rodgers of Chalfont, Pennsylvania.
A memorial service for Danny will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Burton White and Pastor Tom Warren officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
