Mr. Danny Wayne Atkins

Mr. Danny Wayne Atkins, 59, of Dobson passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was born in Forsyth County on September 2, 1954 to the late Otis William and Marie Jones Atkins. Mr. Atkins was formerly employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanifer and husband Ricky Marion, Kimberly Childress and Summer Atkins; five sons, Ricky Atkins, Danny Wayne Atkins, Jr, Randal Atkins, Justin Atkins and Danny Taylor; twelve grandchildren; one sister, Edie Gammons and two brothers, Gurney Atkins and Warren Atkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James David Atkins and Robert Atkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Blackwater Community Church by Rev. Ted Crotts and Rev. Ray Hudson with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Danny Wayne Atkins Funeral Fund, c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home, PO Box 295 Dobson, NC 27017 to assist the family with final expenses. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
