Mr. David Hampton Hagwood

Mr. David Hampton "David Hamm" Hagwood, age 68 of Patrick Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on February 20, 1946 to the late Howard B. and Minnie Reynolds Hagwood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hagwood was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Via and Ruby Hagwood; and three brothers, Jack, Henry and Willie Hagwood. He attended the Patrick Springs Church of Christ, worked for Joyce Lumber and a glass factory, and was a boilermaker.
Mr. Hagwood is survived by four sisters, Ethel Hall, Betty Manns, Margaret Thomas and Dorothy Hughes, all of Martinsville; two sisters in spirit, Sue Ann Ehmann of Patrick Springs and Cindy Ehmann Rottinghaus of Aurora, Indiana; one brother, Joe Hagwood of New Haven, Connecticut; two brothers in spirit, Mack Lewis of Patrick Springs and Pat Ehmann of Hurst, Texas; a special niece and caregiver, Gracie Harris of Martinsville; and several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Hagwood will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Hagwood Family Cemetery in Stella with Evangelist Bob Bottorff officiating.
