Mr. David Lee Lawless

Mr. David Lee Lawless, age 54 of Danville, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Patrick County on June 19, 1959, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Marie Lawless; his father, David Akers Lawless; his stepfather, Jesse Fulcher; and his grandmother, Cubie Kathleen Martin. He had served in the United States Army and attended St. Mark Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Lawless enjoyed automotive work and made it his life's career. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a loving father and took great joy in his children, who kept him going.
Mr. Lawless is survived by his wife, Kimberly Starr Lawless of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Leigh Lawless of the home; three sons, Michael Jacob Lawless of the home, Jonathan Matthew Lawless of the home, and Jesse William Lawless of Burlington, North Carolina; one step-son, Robert Conrad Stone of Danville; one step-daughter, Maria Jackson of Chatham; two step-grandchildren, Shyann Jackson and Zachary Stone; his mother and step-father, Mary Lou Martin Bray and Charles Bray of Penhook, Virginia; one sister, Mary Francis Chandler of Danville; and a dear friend and neighbor, David Bowie.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawless will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Jerry Foley and Pastor Linwood Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service, and at other times at the residence. If desired, memorials may be made to Danville Life Saving Crew or to St. Mark Pentecostal Holiness Church Fellowship Hall Fund in Danville.
