Mr. David Eugene Mitchell, Sr

Mr. David Eugene Mitchell, Sr. Age 55 of 2246 Pedigo Ridge Rd. Claudville, VA., passed away Tuesday June 21, 2011 at his home. Mr. Mitchell was born July 23, 1955 in LaGrange, GA. to Anna Jean Sawyers Mitchell and the late Alton Eugene Mitchell, he was an electrician and was a member of Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are his wife Juanita Tate Mitchell of the home, three daughters and son-in-law Sherri Mitchell of Walnut Cove, Brandy and Cory Lawrence of Atlanta, GA. and Mary Ann Mitchell and Billy of Walnut Cove, two step daughters Anita Connor of Claudville and Frances Beverly and Jimmy of Mt. Airy, two sons Shawn Mitchell of Lowgap and David Eugene Mitchell, Jr. of Winston Salem, five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one sister and brothers-in-law Brenda and Jody Freeman of Winston Salem, T. J. Harrell and Carl Ray Tate both of Mt. Airy and one brother and sister-in-law Mike and Kathy Mitchell of East Bend. In addition to his father Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by one sister Vickie Lynn Holt and by one brother William Edward "Billy" Mitchell. Funeral services will be held Friday June 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church with services conducted by Rev. Joe Pyles and Rev. Albert Elridge with burial to follow in the Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night 7 to 9 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
