Mr. Dennis Gene Bowman

Mr. Dennis Gene Bowman, age 78, of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Baptist Hospital. Mr. Bowman was born in Coalwood, WV to the late Alvin and Elsie Bowman. Mr. Bowman proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Surviving is his devoted and loving wife, Kathleen Shannahan Bowman; a daughter and son-in-law, Deniene B. and Jamie Simmons; a son, Scott Bowman; grandchildren, Dusty Simmons (Amber Dollyhigh), Bailey Brandon (Christopher), Amber Simmons (Nick Thomas), Brandon Shockley; great grandchildren, Roe Brandon and Sadie Dollyhigh; sister and a brother-in-law, Evelyn and Wesley Conners and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Linda Bowman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKayla Simmons; sisters, Marie Alderman, and Freda Marshall and by a brother, Charlie Bowman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00, Friday, April 29, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, 500 E.
