Mr. Dennis Lee Gammons

Mr. Dennis Lee Gammons age 81 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Monday October 19, 2015. Mr. Gammons was born July 18, 1934 in Surry County to the late Thomas and Susie Lettie Hicks Gammons, Mr. Gammons was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was retired from Krispy Kreme after 20 years of employment and was a member of New Charity Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 58 years Jessie Ruth Cooke Gammons of the home, two daughters Denise and David Stone of Mt. Airy and Amy and Mark Utt of Lowgap, one son Rev. Tim Gammons and wife Sandy Pilot Mountain, six grandchildren and spouses Hannah and Jordan Walker, Seth and Megan Gammons, Matthew and Jessica Utt, Holly Gammons, Andrew and Shelby Utt and Ashleigh Stone, one great grandchild Asher Utt. In addition to his parents Mr. Gammons was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Tim Gammons, Rev. Mark Utt and Rev. Hank Robertson with burial to follow in the Westside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. Flowers will be accepted.
