Mr. Dewey Laymon Armstrong

Mr. Dewey Laymon Armstrong, 64, of Pilot Mountain passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born in Surry County on August 7, 1950 to Eva Key Armstrong and the late James Laymon Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a retired teacher from Surry County Schools and continued to work as a Driver's Education Instructor. He was a member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Eva Key Armstrong; daughters and son-in-law, Angel Armstrong, Crystal and Cody Johnson; sons and daughter-in-law, Lewis Andrew and Cindy Armstrong, and Joseph Armstrong; grandchildren, Magan, Marcus, Marleigh amd Morgan Dowdy, Jaden, Skylar and Trey Jackson, Drew and Sadie Armstrong and Lucas Wood-Armstrong; sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Donald Terrell, Frances and Glenn Cook, Mary Ellen and Byron Wells and a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Judi Armstrong. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Simmons Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
