Mr. Dillard Ray Hylton, age 71 of Woolwine passed away Saturday, Apr. 19, 2014. He was born in Rockingham County, NC on Apr. 2, 1943 to the late Willie Ray Hylton and Virginia Conner Hylton. Dillard served the the U.S. Army; was a Foreman and Purchasing Agent for Bassett Superior Lines; was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church; and loved golf, baseball, and basketball.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Daisy Williams Hylton of the home; one daughter and son in law, Amanda and Bobby Collins of Stuart; two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Vicki Hylton of Christiansburg, Brian and Pam Hylton of Stuart; six grandchildren, Caleb, Madison, and Tyler Collins, Matthew, Christina, and Jada Hylton; one brother and sister in law, O'Bain and Linda Hylton of Bassett; and several other special family members.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elders Donnie Conner, Edward Bowman, Milton Gunter, and Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacks Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites by The Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O Box 122, Woolwine, VA 24185.
