Mr. Donald Ray Corn

Mr. Donald Ray Corn, age 71 of Ararat, VA, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at his home. Mr. Corn was born in Surry County on May 30, 1940 to James Henry and Thelma Lucille York Corn. He served our country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Spencer's Inc. and Food Lion. Mr. Corn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Luckado Corn of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Scott Marion of Ararat, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Engle Corn also of Ararat; a step son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Charlotte Luckado of Ararat, VA; grandchildren, Ryan Marion and Elizabeth Corn and step grandchildren, Gracie and Elizabeth Luckado. In addition to his parents, Mr. Corn was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Mae Hall Corn; sisters, Linda Jones, Shirley Jones and Henrietta Mosley and a brother, Rev. Junior Corn. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Believers Baptist Church by Rev. Dewayne Sands and Rev. Steven Corn. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Believers Baptist Church Youth Fund at 288 Homeplace Rd., Ararat, VA 24053.
