Mr. Donald Gene Shaw

Mr. Donald Gene Shaw age 74 of Lowgap, NC. passed away Monday November 10, 2014 at his home. Mr. Shaw was born August 5, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN. To the late Francis and Bertha Mae Davis Shaw, he was veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, was retired from American Tobacco Co. and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Galax, VA. Surviving is his wife Mrs. JoAnn Holland Shaw of the home, three daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia Renee Wilson of Lowgap, Vickie Lynn and Gary Bowman of Mt. Airy and Crystal Ann and Timothy Bryson of Galax, VA., Seven grandchildren, Three great grandchildren and by one brother Bill Shaw of Reidsville, NC. In addition to his parents Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by two brothers Ray Shaw and Joe Shaw. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church in Galax with services conducted by Rev. Sam Holder with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery with full military rites conducted by The Grover King VFW Post #1115. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Shaw will lie in state 30 minutes at the church before the service.
