Mr. Donnie Odell Blair

Mr. Donnie Odell Blair, 67, of 574 Pell Lane, Claudville, VA, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012. He was born May 20, 1945, in Hinton, WV, to the late Henry Yates and Goldie Ivory Bowling Blair. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War, and a retired painter. He is survived by his wife, Carol Kay Cooper Blair of the home; a daughter, Stephanie B. Steed of the home; a son, Michael Edward Blair of the home; three grandchildren, Cody Steed and Seth Steed, both of the home, and Aaron Steed of Lexington; and two sisters, Helen Settle of Talcott, WV, and Hazel Burbridge of Johnsonville, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Blair was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Blair. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 1, 2012 at Friendly Tabernacle, 462 McBride Road, Mt. Airy, NC Airy, conducted by Dr. Rick Jackson. The family will receive friends 10:00 am Friday-until time of the service at Friendly Tabernacle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the Blair family with the funeral expenses.
