Mr. Douglas Richardson

Mr. Douglas Richardson, 60, of Lowgap passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on September 26, 1954 to the late Bertie Isaac and Cleo Moncus Richardson. Mr. Richardson was retired from Spencer's and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Corena Johnson, Norene and Omer Lowe all of Lowgap, Annie and Tommy Smith of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, William McKinley and Dorothy Richardson, Winfred and Becky Richardson, Billy Gray Richardson all of Lowgap, Robert Dean and Frances Richardson of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Money Richardson; a daughter, Cynthia Leann Richardson; a son, Kevin Douglas Richardson; and a sister, Doris Hodge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Fisher Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Fisher's Gap Primitive Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, PO Box 241, Lowgap, NC 27024.
