Mr. Dudley McMillian

Mr. Dudley McMillian, 84, of Cana, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. Mr. McMillian was born November 22, 1928, in Carroll County, VA, to James Walter and Mary McMillian. He was retired from Bassett Furniture and enjoyed working in his garden and yard. Surviving are his wife, Ila Haynes McMillian of the home; sisters, Katherine Arrington and Mary Ruth Lawson, both of Mount Airy, and Connie McMillian of Cana, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. McMillian was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Smith; and three brothers, Hamp McMillian, Sam McMillian, and Leonard McMillian. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dennis Bledsoe officiating. Interment will be in Flat Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The McMillian family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Ridge Baptist Church, 2167 Epworth Road, Cana, VA 24317.
