Mr. Dwight McMillian

Mr. Dwight McMillian, age 89, formerly of Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Galax. Mr. McMillian was born in Surry County on January 2, 1926 to the late Samuel Cassell and Laura Dawson McMillian. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a retired farmer. Surviving are a daughter, LuAnne Llewellyn; sons, Harvey C. McMillian, David R. McMillian and Dennis D. McMillian; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Eulala Dawson, Opal Thomas and Mable Utt; brothers, Glen McMillian, Clinton McMillian, Clayton McMillian, Ross McMillian and Earl McMillian. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gary Easter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crooked Oak Moravian Church Cemetery Fund at 76 Flower Gap Rd., Cana, VA 24317.
