Mr. Edgar "Eddie" Jackson Flinchum, III, 59, of 3499 West Pine Street, Mount Airy, husband of Evelyn Kaye Kemp Flinchum, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born April 28, 1952, in Surry County, to Ruby Irene Hill Flinchum and the late Edgar Jackson "Jack" Flinchum, Jr. He was owner and operator of Discount Canopies and a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Kaye Kemp Flinchum of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Misty Kay Utt of Mount Airy and Christy Fay Goins and Daniel of Wake Forest; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar "Ed" Jackson Flinchum, IV and Haw Shen of Lexington and Chip Nathaniel Flinchum and Angela of High Point; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Nolan, Nathan, Hasten, Landon, Peyton, Kade, and Kalli; and a sister and brother-in-law, Forrest Connell and David of Mount Airy. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2012, at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Archie Easter officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time for Mr. Flinchum to be taken to the cemetery for the service.
