Mr. Edward Eugene Tickle

Mr. Edward Eugene Tickle age 76 of 218 Delaware Ave., Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Kathleen Holt Tickle passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home. He was born on April 12, 1938 in Surry County to the late Claude and Doris Lee Brinkley Tickle. He was retired from United Plastics having worked there for over 40 years. Mr. Tickle was a member of the Salvation Army where he served as a Sunday School teacher. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Kathleen H. Tickle of the home, five daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Robert "Bobby" Payne of Westfield, Kelly and Todd Benge of Mt. Airy, Kay and Jeff Beaver of Mt. Airy, Kristie and Adam Tucker of Pilot Mountain, Kendra and Tony Williams of Mt. Airy, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Angie Tickle of Pilot Mountain, grandchildren and spouses, Jessica P. Edmonds, Jordan Beaver and Sara, Joseph Payne, Kurstin Boles and Ethan, Jenny Benge, Blake Tickle, Brooke Tickle, Katie Williams, Klaudia Tucker, Jaden Williams, and Weslee Tucker, and a great grandchild, E.J. Bowman, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Bill Riggs of Mt. Airy, Janie and David Dawson of Cana, VA and Pat and Joe Smith of Colorado Springs, CO. and a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Evelyn Tickle of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gene Snow and Major Mike Rodgers. Burial will follow in the McBride Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 pm Sunday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 651 S. South Street, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
