Mr. Eli Lee Easter

Mr. Eli Lee "Lawrence" Easter age 84 of, Cana, VA passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home. He was born June 10, 1930 in Surry County to the late Jabe and Ada Jones Easter. He was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight Company and attended Rocky Ford Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Emily Verlea Gates Easter of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bill Hiatt of Cana, VA, three grandchildren and spouses, Jill and Brad Horton of Galax, VA, Travis and Samantha Hiatt of Cana, VA and Jacob and Leah Hiatt of Cana, VA, four great grandchildren, Brady Horton, Gwendolyn Beal, Savannah Hiatt and Rosalee Hiatt, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Gracie Orser of Jacksonville, FL, Alma Mathis and Ken of Moneta, VA and Ila Jannuzzio of Wilmington, DE. two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray and Elaine Easter of Candor, NC and Denny Easter of Lowgap, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Easter , two sisters, Ruth Tolbert and Rosazetta Berry and two brothers, Roy Easter and Russell Easter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Rocky Ford Christian Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Billy Moore. Burial will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Moody Funeral Home.
