Mr. Elmen Carlyle Quesinberry, age 90 of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home. He was born in Patrick County, on July 30, 1921 to Tyler Churchwell and Ethel Branscome Quesinberry. Mr. Quesinberry served our country in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. After retiring from Westinghouse in 1986 he and Verona moved to Mt. Airy and joined Central United Methodist Church. He enjoyed banjo playing, square dancing, wood working and community volunteer work. Surviving are his loving wife, Verona Culler Quesinberry of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Jay Traylor of St. Petersburg, FL; Faye and Kevin Parris of Severna Park, MD; a grandson, Brian Parris; a sister, Eileen Hubbard of Stuart, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arden and Golda Quesinberry of Severna Park, MD; Harmon and Judy Quesinberry of Troutville, VA; Gary Quesinberry of Meadows of Dan, VA; Chester Quesinberry of Roanoke, VA and Eric Quesinberry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Quesinberry was preceded in death by a brother Dorn Quesinberry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Central United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Pyatt. Burial will be in the Culler Family Cemetery with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
