Mr. Ernest Gilmer Dockery, age 86 , of Elkin passed away Tuesday, April 28, 20015 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. Mr. Dockery was born April 13, 1929 to the late Talmadge Dockery and the late Elizabeth Moncus Dockery. He was a retired machinist and of the Baptist Faith, and a Veteran of The US Army. He was a loving husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. June Maxine Hege Dockery; his daughters and son-in law, Deborah Boles of the home; and Lesa and Randy Freeman of Elkin; His granddaughters , Victoria Dockery and Alexandria Jade Freeman, and one great-granddaughter, Kaili Phillips; Sisters, Lucille Southard of Elkin, Minnie Holder of Elkin, Dorothy Naylor of Winston Salem and Maxine Stanley of Dobson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dockery, and Bill Dockery; four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, May 1st, 2015 in The Moody-Davis Chapel by Reverend Donald Ball and Reverend Michael Kelly. Burial will follow in the Dockery Family Cemetery in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Brenners Childrens Hospital, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Medical Center Blvd. Winston Salem NC 27517
