Mr. Franklin Thomas Jessup

Mr. Franklin Thomas Jessup, age 55, of Mt. Airy, NC died on Saturday evening unexpectedly. He was born in Surry Co. on May 26, 1960 to Florence Smith Jessup and to the late Alvin Cecil Jessup. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by three brothers Gary Jessup, Wayne Jessup and Junior Lee Jessup. He attended Salvation Army in Mt. Airy, and was a Meat Cutter for the Mt. Airy Meat Center, and was a farmer. Surviving is his mother Florence Smith Jessup of Mt. Airy; one sister Pamela Jessup of Mt. Airy; one brother Dwayne Jessup of Kernersville, NC; two nephews Tristan Slawter, and Randall Jessup; two nieces Sherri Kanoy, and Lisa Jessup; his girlfriend Virginia Thompson; and several other friends and neighbors. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 2:00 PM in Mt. Airy at the Salvation Army with Major Michael Rogers conducting the services. Burial will follow in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ararat, Virginia. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the Salvation Army to lie in state 30 Min. before the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
