Mr. Fred Lee Thompson

Mr. Fred Lee Thompson, age 94, of Ararat, Virginia, died March 31, 2015. He was born in Patrick County on February 3, 1921 to the late John and Notie Puckett Thompson. He was a retired farmer and orchardist. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Marie Barnard Thompson of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Darla Thompson, Jimmy and Marcie Thompson of Ararat, Brian and Crystal Thompson of Dobson, North Carolina; and six grandchildren.
The family is planning a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, 5082 Ararat Hwy., Ararat, Virginia 24053.
