Mr. Freddy Lee Kennedy

Mr. Freddy Lee Kennedy age 73, of Winston Salem, died at the Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin on Tuesday March 4, 2014. Mr. Kennedy was born in Surry County May 17, 1940 the son of the late Henry Dow and Pansy Jones Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a retired carpenter and a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Winston Salem. Surviving are two sisters; Mrs. Shirley Kennedy Freeman Dugger of Mount Airy, and Mrs. Nellie Kennedy Shore of Winston Salem; one niece, Terry Speas and her husband Jeff of Lewisville; two nephews, James Freeman and his wife, Lisa of Elkin, and Michael Smith of Bethania; 3 great nieces and 5 great nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winston Salem Rescue Mission, 718 North Trade St. Winston Salem, NC 27101. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Kennedy family.
