Mr. Garry Dean Harriman

Mr. Garry Dean Harriman, 57 of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Forsyth County on January 10, 1957 to Barbara Jean Goad Harriman and the late Everett Merrill Harriman. Mr. Harriman was a dedicated member and Deacon of Believers Baptist Church in Ararat, VA, also serving as a Sunday School Teacher and the Sound System Operator. He was employed with Niblock Financial System and previously worked as the Photo Lab Manager for Walgreens. Mr. Harriman is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Brannock Harriman; his mother, Barbara Jean Goad Harriman Johnson; his identical twin brother and sister-in-law, Larry Gene Harriman and Patsy Holt a sister, Debbie Lynn Parker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny and Patsy Hensley. In addition to his father, Mr. Harriman was preceded in death by his step father, Bobby Greene "Bob" Johnson and his grandmother, Sadie Poole Goard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Believers Baptist Church with Pastor Dewayne Sands and Rev. Verlon Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel where he will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.
