Mr. Gary Leon Reece

Mr. Gary Leon Reece, age 79, of Dobson, passed away in his home, June17, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Malo William Reece and Mildred Rash Reece and his infant son, Dennis Malo Reece. Those acquainted with him knew he was an enthusiast of bluegrass music, farming equipment, reading, candy and sports. His smile was infectious and his knowledge and love of the past intrigued all.
Though he suffered from Parkinson's Disease for 52 years of his life, he was an extremely active man who kept an optimistic attitude about life, family and the future.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Bertha Jewel Holyfield Reece of Dobson; Son, James Reece of Elkin and his fiancé, Rita Newsom of Siloam; Son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Linda Reece of Dobson; Daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Paul Patton of Waynesfield Ohio.
His surviving grandchildren whom he loved and talked so highly of are Jessica and John Jonczak of Walkertown; Megan and Brey Buetner of Lima, Ohio; Abbie Patton of Waynesfield, Ohio; Evan Reece of Cleveland, Tennessee and Tyler Reece of Dobson. He is also survived by his two great grandsons, Bryce Buetner and Tristan Jonczak, who both brought him great happiness and joy in the past years.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 20th, 2015 from 9 AM till 11 AM at Moody Davis Funeral Service in Dobson with a private burial to follow. II Cor. 5: 6-8.
