Mr. Gaylon Kenneth Sowers

Mr. Gaylon Kenneth Sowers, age 81 of Stuart, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Roanoke County on November 21, 1928 to the late John S. and Nova Belcher Sowers. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from United Elastic Corporation. He had played the guitar with Denny Archer and Turner Foddrell
Mr. Sowers is survived by his wife, Margaret Puckett Sowers of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Joan Sowers of Stuart; one granddaughter, Amanda Robertson, and her husband, Derick of Patrick Springs; and one sister, Marjorie Goad of Roanoke.
Funeral services for Mr. Sowers will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Zane Fishel and Brother Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
