Mr. George Wayne Bowman, Sr

Mr. George Wayne Bowman, Sr., age 73 of Ararat, NC, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Bowman was born in Surry County on November 15, 1938 to Coley McKinnley and Sara Etta Fulk Bowman. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by his devoted family and friends. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law. Cindy and Randy Moore of Pinnacle; sons, Wayne Bowman, Jr. and wife Vickie of Ararat and David Bowman and fiancée, Dana also of Ararat; grandchildren, Jason Bowman, Brandy Bowman, Derek Moore and Sarah Moore; great grandchildren, Devin Poindexter, Coley James and Justin Bowman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his wife, Coretta Lorraine Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Robbie Vance and Bro. Don Collins. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday from 1:00 until the hour of the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice for the exceptional care given to Mr. Bowman during his illness.
