Mr. George Ervin Boyd

Mr. George Ervin Boyd, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Boyd was born in Carroll County on May 1, 1930, the last living child of George Martin and Electra McMillian Boyd. He proudly served our county in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Boyd was retired from North Carolina Granite Company. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his wife of fifty three years, Nannie "Nan" Parker Boyd, ten sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dwight Sechrist. Burial will follow in Venable-Hutchens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Central Continuing Care.
