Mr. Gerardo Rubio "Shorty" Chavez

Mr. Gerardo “Shorty” Rubio Chavez, age 61, of Dobson, NC, passed away on Sunday morning October 11, 2015 at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. He was born in Temapach, San Luis Potosi, Mexico on October 30, 1953 to Rafael Rubio and the late Albina Chavez. Surviving is his wife Libby Noah, of Dobson; three daughters and son-in-law, Veronika Ruvio of Dobson, Salena Ruvio-Ayers and Kole Ayers of Dobson, and Florina Ruvio of Idaho; two sons Gary Ruvio of Idaho and Ricky Ruvio of Dobson; four grandchildren, Laila Ayers, Isaiah Carrillo, Xavier Ruvio and Alex Zunita; father Rafael Rubio of Dobson; sister Francisca Rubio of Dobson; brother Liborio Rubio Chaves of Elkin. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday October 16, 2015 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with Rev. Cory Honeycutt and Rev. J.V. Lowe conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to his children to help with final expenses. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Ruvio family with the arrangements.
