Mr. Glenn Ellis Turner

Mr. Glenn Ellis Turner, age 77 of Meadows of Dan, and formerly of Woodbridge, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. He was born in Carroll County on August 11, 1936 to the late Ellis and Janie Knighten Turner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wood Turner; three brothers, Charles, Carson and Sydney Turner; and an infant sister. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war.
Mr. Turner is survived by one daughter, Brenda Turner and husband, Mark Crook of Meadows of Dan; two sons, Clyde Turner and wife, Josee of Dumfries, Douglas Turner of Meadows of Dan; nine grandchildren, Joseph Maloney III, Michael Maloney, Kathy Maloney, Kevin Turner, Daniel Turner, Christopher Turner, Alex Turner, Tiffany Turner, Victoria Turner; two great grandchildren, Makayla Maloney and Sydney McCormick; and two brothers, Eldridge Turner and wife, Shirley of Woodbridge and John Turner of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Marcus Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O.
