Mr. Harold "Skipper" Young Hodges, Jr

Mr. Harold “Skipper” Young Hodges, Jr., 67, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County, on August 15, 1949 to the late Harold Hodges, Sr. and Dorothy Klutz Hodges. Mr. Hodges retired from Dixie Warehouse and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF and AM. He is survived by daughters and a son-in-law, Kelly and Steve Mosley and Tracy Hodges all of Mt. Airy; the mother of his children, Carloyn Dollyhigh Bullen of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Brett Mosley of Boone, Chase Mosley of Mt. Airy; brother, Gene Hodges of NJ; nieces and nephew, Audrey and Tim Simpson of Mt. Airy, Sarah Hodges of Winston Salem, Grace Hodges of NY, Sam Hodges of Vermont; many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dicky” Hodges. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by the Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF and AM. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy.
