Mr. Henry Tomlinson "Tom" Hart

Mr. Henry Tomlinson "Tom" Hart passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on September 19, 2015 after a period of declining health. Tom was a native of Wadesboro, NC and was born August 15, 1928 to the late L.S. and Daisy S. Hart. Tom was a graduate of Pfeiffer College and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired after many years of service from Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Tom was a past president of the Mt. Airy Lion's Club and was an active member at First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rocelle S. Hart; son, Allen Hart and wife, Robin of Reidsville, NC, son, Phillip Hart and wife, Diane of Mt. Airy, grandchildren, Kelly H. Hall and husband, Ben of Reidsville, and Jacob Hart of Mt. Airy; a great grandchild, Avery Grace Hall of Reidsville. Also surviving are his brother, James H. Hart of Burlington and a special nephew, Fred Avett of Dalton, GA and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Lee Avett Smith and a brother, Fred Dayton Hart. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Meadows and Dr. Roger Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Fireside room at First Baptist Church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 714 N. Man St., Mt.
