Mr. Herbert Carl Lawson

Mr. Herbert Carl Lawson, age 71 of Stuart passed away at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital Tuesday, August 12, 2008. He was born in Patrick County on March 21, 1937 to the late William Carl Lawson and Gwendolyn Turner Lawson. Mr. Lawson was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Williams Lawson of the home, two sons; Calvin Dwuane & wife, Charlotte Lawson and Carl Lee Lawson both of Stuart, Virginia, six grandchildren; Tommy Alan Cassady, Joshua Dwuane Lawson, Jonathan Lee Lawson, Amy Nicole Foley, Alysia Marie Lawson, and Amber Renee Lawson, seven great grandchildren, and two sisters Melinda Davis of Powhatan, Virginia and Elda Gilley of Patrick Springs, Virginia.
A Funeral service for Mr. Lawson will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 2:00pm at Moody Funeral Chapel in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
