Mr. Hobert Lee Wilmoth

Mr. Hobert Lee Wilmoth, 91, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Dunmore Plantation. He was born in Surry County on August 25, 1922 to the late William Jennings and Lillie Campbell Wilmoth. Mr. Wilmoth was formerly employed by Bassett Furniture and a self employed farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served our country during WWII and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Willie Wilmoth of Elkin; and a brother, Wade Wilmoth of Boone. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Fairview Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Byrd, the Rev. Don Ball and the Rev. Tim Burton with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, from 6 to 8 pm where his body will remain to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
