Mr. Homer Eugene Hooker

Mr. Homer Eugene Hooker, 78 of Claudville, VA passed away Friday October 16, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hooker was born July 2, 1937 in Stokes County to the late Giles and Myrtle Childress Hooker. Mr. Hooker along with his two brothers Gordon and Conley were well known brick masons for many years. Mr. Hooker later went on to work for Rittenbach Construction for 18 Years. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law Sheila and David Stone of Sneads Ferry, NC and Michele Amidon of Charlotte, one son Chad Hooker of the home, three grandsons Lucas Amidon of Charlotte, Dustin Hooker of the home and Tucker Hooker of Claudville, one sister Marie Blackwell of Spartanburg, SC, two brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Maria Hooker of Mt. Airy and Duaine and Jeanette Hooker of Westfield, sisters-in-law Nettie Hooker of Mt. Airy and Sallie Hooker of Claudville, and his special furry friend “Dooney”. In addition to his parents Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by his wife Shelby Jean Smith Hooker and by two brothers Gordon Hooker and Conley Hooker. Funeral services will be held Monday October 19, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Harry Sherrill and Rev. Rickey Spencer with burial to follow in the Hatcher Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
