Mr. Hoover Martin Nester

Mr. Hoover Martin Nester, 85 of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Patrick County on September 26, 1928, the youngest of eleven children, to the late John A. and Della Jessup Nester. Mr. Nester was a retired farmer and a member of Unity Church in Ararat, VA. Surviving is his loving wife Barbara Hiatt Nester of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Jerry Mears, Eden, N.C., Janet Nester, Cornelius N.C., and Jacqueline and Timothy Pack, Mt. Airy, N.C. ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas and Lynne Nester, Wilmington N.C., and Marty and Jenua Nester, Mt. Airy, N.C.; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Nester was preceded in death by his daughter, Joy Nester; his sisters, Hallie Nester, Violet Nester, Grace Love, Monnie Vaughn, Alpha Crone; his brothers, Aaron Nester, Frank Nester, Clarence Nester, Wade Nester, Vernon Nester. A graveside service will be held Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Unity Church Cemetery, 4337 Unity Church Road Ararat, VA, with Rev. Buford Jessup and Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. The Nester family will receive friends at Unity Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Unity Church Cemetery Fund, 4337 Unity Church Road, Ararat, VA 24053.
