Mr. Howard W. Carpenter

Mr. Howard "Dinky" Wilford Carpenter, age 69 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Baptist Hospital. Mr. Carpenter was born in Surry County on December 18, 1944 to Howard V. and Velma Creed Carpenter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by all his dear family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Bullin Carpenter; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Ted Edwards; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Carpenter; grandchildren, Emily Edwards, Ethan Edwards and Stephanie Sheets; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Chuck Rodgers; brothers, Brian Carpenter and Mark Carpenter; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhonda and David Burnette and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dennis Cameron. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
