Mr. Howard Kermit Goins

Mr. Howard Kermit Goins, age 67 of Ararat, VA passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Patrick County, VA on Dec. 6, 1947 to the late Chester and Minnie Sawyers Goins. Mr. Goins was a member of New Beginning Church and attended Doe Run Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Melissa Ann and Tracy "Beefy" Penn of Stuart, VA; one son, Joseph H. Goins of Raleigh, NC; his best friend and companion, Shirley Phillips of Meadows of Dan; seven sisters, Gerline Dolby of Kernersville, NC, Lottie Fulk of Walkertown, NC, Betty Roberson of Henderson, NC, Shirley Clark of Stuart, Christine Coalson of Mt. Airy, NC, Judy Niten of Ararat, VA, Teresa Boyd of Mt. Airy, NC; three brothers, Larry Goins, Troy Goins both of Ararat, VA, Teddy Goins of Mt. Airy, NC; and his beloved dog, Blue.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 2 PM at Unity Church in Ararat, VA with Pastor Odell White officiating. Burial will follow in the New Beginning Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
