Mr. Hugh Caswell Bryant, 72, of Mount Airy entered the Portals of Heaven on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice. He was born in Surry County on October 19, 1939 to the late John Necola and Bessie Peele Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a dedicated man of God and was the Pastor of Gospel of Jesus Christ Church for twenty-four years. He built the church in 1987 and held his first service on December 18, 1988. He worked at Renfro Hosiery for many years and began running Bryant's Upholstery where he worked until his retirement. He married the love of his life Wanda Morrison Bryant on July 24, 1964 and from that union they were blessed with two sons, Mickey Necola Bryant of the home and Jonathan Clark and his, wife Karen Allen Bryant of Mount Airy. Also surviving him are a sister Ruby Hatcher of Pilot Mountain and a brother, Ray Bryant of White Plains as well as many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters and five brothers. His funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Miles Bryant and the Rev. Tommy Noah. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 12 pm until the hour of the service. Special thanks to the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Home for their kindness and care.
