Mr. Hurley Lee Upchurch

Mr. Hurley Lee Upchurch, age 65 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at his home. Mr. Upchurch was born in Surry County on January 19, 1950, to Dennis and Maggie Senter Upchurch. He served our country in the United States Army and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving are his devoted wife, Tammy Melton Upchurch; his children, Kevin Upchurch and wife Dawn, Darian Upchurch and wife Jean, Heather Upchurch, Justin Upchurch and Jenna Upchurch; grandchildren, Brooklyn Bowman, Andrew Bowman, Jayden Bowman, Chelsey Ashby and Chloe Spurlin; a great grandchild, Lyric Upchurch; a sister, Brenda Pressley and brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Upchurch and D. J. Upchurch. In addition to his parents, Mr. Upchurch was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Latham and brothers, Bernard Upchurch, Wayne Upchurch and Carlos James Upchurch. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
