Mr. Jackie Utt

Mr. Jackie Charles Utt, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Carroll County on January 19, 1948 to the late Leonard A. Utt, Sr. and Alice Bell Towe Utt. Mr. Utt loved his country and was honored to have had to opportunity to serve in the U.S. Army. He was a faithful servant to our Lord and a dedicated member of Highland Park Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Utt of the home; a son, Charles Darren Utt of Virginia Beach and a granddaughter, Peyton Victoria Utt; sisters, Belle Johnson of Charlotte and Lisa Utt of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard A. Utt, Jr., Jerry and Theresa Utt of Kings Mountain and Mike and Jane Utt of Mt. Airy; sisters-in-law, Adele Bledsoe and husband, Rev. Alton Bledsoe of Mt. Airy, Darlene Calhoun and husband, James Calhoun of Lexington and Clayron Webb and husband, Larry Webb of Walkertown; eleven nieces and five nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Utt was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Towe. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Bledsoe, Dr. Darrell Tate and Darren Utt officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 7726 of Independence, VA. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 1247 Park Dr., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
