Mr. Jacob Cornelious "J.C." Marion

Mr. J.C. Marion, age 79 of Dobson, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Marion was born April 13, 1936 in Surry County to the late Alfred Jerry Marion and the late Mittie Cave Marion. He was retired from the maintenance department of Washington Mill and a member of Welcome View Baptist. Mr. Marion is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Beane Marion, of the home; Daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Kenneth O'Neal of Dobson, NC; Grandchildren, Kristi and Steven Edwards of Mount Airy and Barry and Jamie O'Neal of Dobson, NC; Great grandchildren Chandler Luke Edwards, Strummer Kate O'Neal and Finnlee Titus O'Neal; Sisters, Helen Holt of Mount Airy and Launa White of Dobson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his step mother, Hulda Freeman Marion; A sister, Edna White; and a brother Roy Marion.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Welcome View Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 PM with Reverend Tony White and Reverend Barry O'Neal, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is in charge of arrangements.
