Mr. James Bert Blevins, age 71 of Dobson passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Blevins was born in Surry County on March 14, 1944 to the late Jim Blevins and the late Elsie Blevins. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Hice Blevins of the Home; Daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jason Wilmoth of Dobson; His sister, Fern Hinson of Dobson, and Sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Bobby and Kelly Hice of Lowgap, Pat and Kenneth Lowe of Lowgap, Becky Bandy of Lowgap, and John and Lucy Hice of Mount Airy, Joyce Blevins of Mount Airy and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by his son, Jim Blevins and his brother, Sam Blevins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with Reverend Claude Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody-Davis Funeral Service to help with final expenses or to the Woltz Hospice Home in care of Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.The family would like to express their thanks to Dixie Atkins of Woltz Hospice, a special niece, Sandy Mayes, and a special friend, Chris Cleary.
