Mr. James Clyde Brown, age 90, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on June 18, 1924 to the late Wallar Robert and Nannie Sue Ore Brown. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Aaron Brown; a granddaughter, Katy Joyce Jackson; and two brothers, Roy Brown and John Brown. He was a member of Critz Baptist Church and had been a farmer.
Mr. Brown is survived by three step-daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bobby Arrington of Martinsville, Marie and David Greenhill of Mebane, North Carolina and Brenda and Ray Hooper of Ridgeway; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Ore Brown, Sara B. Gayle, John Robert Brown, Jr., Edward James Brown, and Bess Brown Blackburn, all of North Carolina; and special friends, Wilbur Walker of Stuart and Eva Thomas of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Critz Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N.
